Overview:

As was the case two weeks ago the BetCrushers played survivor against the Miami Dolphins and had a little bit of a scare in the first half. Fortunately a terrible defensive play call before halftime gave the Steelers confidence and momentum and they were able to cruise to a victory in the second half. For as bad as the overall roster is the Miami Dolphins have played hard and made better teams work for their wins the last few weeks.

Strategy / Odds:

This is by far the toughest week of survivor and that’s not even including the teams that you may have already selected that aren’t available to you. In every week there at least seemed to be one or two games that were completely certain locks. (Whether or not they ended up being locks is a different discussion). Good luck finding a game that you can’t at least make some sort of mild argument that the opposite team can’t pull out a win.

Here is a quick glance at the four largest spreads for the week:
(Bovada Sportsbook 10/22/19)

San Francisco 49ers -10 at Arizona Cardinals
Washington Redskins +9.5 at Buffalo Bills
Dallas Cowboys -7 at New York Giants
Tampa Bay Buccaneers +6 at Seattle Seahawks

Listed above are the four largest spreads of the week which gives us a look into who Las Vegas thinks is most likely to win. San Francisco has looked fantastic and put an absolute beating on the Carolina Panthers last Sunday. They should certainly be able to handle rookie quarterback Kyler Murray and the Cardinals so that would seem like the safest play of the weekend. We’ve seen the better team win on Thursday night consistently this year, although the home team clearly has an advantage without the traveling. There’s a pretty big discrepancy in talent in that game, but the Niners’ have to trip up at some point don’t they? And the Cardinals have played pretty competitively so far for the most part all season.

If that wasn’t enough to scare you, let’s take a look at the other matchups of the weekend. The usual strategy of going against the Dolphins which has proven fail-safe to this point is suddenly not a slam dunk as they have their most winnable game to-date in the season in a home tilt against the 1-6 division rival New York Jets. Does anyone feel comfortable taking the Jets to win any game right now, especially on the road? If you didn’t use the Buffalo Bills against Miami a couple weeks ago they’re certainly a solid choice against the Redskins at home. Even that’s a little scary though as the Redskins have been playing hard and the Bills are not as great as their current record might suggest. Cowboys on the road against a rival that is trending in the right direction is also a little scary. A lot to consider this week and as we’re now to the midway point in the season available teams not used becomes a big factor. We don’t have the highest level of confidence that we’ve had, but we’ve gotta pick it, so here goes nothing…
