The NASCAR Cup Series hits the iconic squared-end oval of Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 2026 Brickyard 400. Competitive races at Chicagoland and Atlanta leading into an old-school showdown at North Wilkesboro have catapulted Ryan Blaney into a locked up spot in the Chase, joining Denny Hamlin and Tyler Reddick. Now we head to the Hoosier State for a crown jewel race that strayed from its roots for several seasons. But the Brickyard is back on the big oval where it belongs.
2024’s return from the road course yielded a win to Kyle Larson, last year’s runner-up to Bubba Wallace. Indy’s primary comp track is the big flat Tricky Triangle of Pocono Raceway, whose Turn 2 is modeled after IMS. And that joint has been very amenable to Denny Hamlin for quite a while.
