Daily Fantasy Football – Draftkings Week 6

Daily fantasy football continues to climb in popularity as jackpots have risen consistently and more fans are joining sites every week. Our weekly article showcases players to target at three general levels of value: The big dollar talent (High-Priced Heroes), the average-priced contributors (He’s so “Mid”), and the guys very questionable players at the bottom of the cost charts (Bargain Basement). Yes, for our longtime readers, we did change the titles of our tiers. Our selected players are based on DraftKings values as that is our daily fantasy site of choice, but the values should translate fairly well to any other sites you may use. We don’t share specific lineups or optimized computer rankings, but we will give you some great candidates for you to consider. We set this breakdown up that way because while winning is great, a big part of the fun draw of daily fantasy is mixing and matching your lineups to see how you can maximize your team. That and the fact that we are trying to win the same way that you are, and quite frankly, we don’t want our readers to all have the same exact lineups.

NFL Week 5 Recap

Yes sir, things fell together pretty nicely once again for what was another very successful DFS Sunday that you hopefully were a part of with us? Even if you didn’t scroll through our entire list of potential player suggestions, hopefully you read our one paragraph preview of what we recommended for the week. In summary, we said to stack Miami Dolphins, and center your lineups around our featured Star of the Week at just $5,400, Jets running back Breece Hall. If you did that, you automatically gave yourself a really good shot to cash in on some winnings. We’re starting to learn a lot of things about players at this juncture of the season, one of which is making sure you have De’Von Achane in your lineups. Let’s take a quick recap look below at who balled out, and who didn’t produce below.

These Players Made Us Look Good:

Tua Tagovailoa – 308 Yards Passing, 6 Yards Rushing, 2 Total TDs
Tyreek Hill – 181 Yards Receiving, 1 Total TD
De”Von Achane – 151 Yards Rushing, 14 Yards Receiving, 1 Total TD
Breece Hall – 177 Yards Rushing, 17 Yards Receiving, 1 Total TD
David Montgomery – 109 Yards Rushing, 20 Yards Receiving, 1 Total TD
Jaleel McLaughlin – 68 Yards Rushing, 21 Yards Receiving, 1 Total TD

These Players Made Us Look Foolish:

Lamar Jackson – 236 Yards Passing, 45 Yards Rushing, 0 Total TD
Daniel Jones – 119 Yards Passing, 24 Yards Rushing, 0 Total TD
Durham Smythe – 0 Yards Receiving, 0 Total TD

NFL Week 6 Preview

Every week of DFS presents a unique set of challenges, and this weekend is certainly no different. In combing through the player combinations, there seem to be some almost too obvious players at each position. Why is this a problem? Well, if we’re seeing it, that means a lot of other steady DFS players are seeing similar things. Simply put, you can’t win if you play the same lineups as everyone else. The positive news is we were able to dig a little bit deeper and find some potential winners that don’t jump off the page at you. For the second straight week, there’s a very strong reason to look at stacking Miami Dolphins, in their record-setting offense. Lastly, if you like to go cheap on your defense (who doesn’t?), you may have to pay up a little bit to get into the top half of the field. It’s just tough to see the bottom half of the slate providing any help on a roster. Have a great Sunday!

Before we highlight our three levels of talent, let’s look at our projected star of the week:

STAR OF THE WEEK:

Rams running back Kyren Williams will face the Cardinals in showdown in the NFC West

As we approach week number six in the NFL, our first team with two featured Stars of the Week is the Los Angeles Rams. Yeah, we really didn’t see that coming either, especially if Cooper Kupp wasn’t going to be one of those players. We’ve found our way this weekend to Rams unexpected starting running back, Kyren Williams. Much like last week’s selection, Williams hasn’t had a ton of production in the yardage department, however he has been a fantasy darling finding the end zone six times already. Facing a Cardinals defense on Sunday that has not been great, and just doesn’t have enough talent, we’re planning on him adding to those touchdown numbers. Additionally, this should be a break-out type performance on the yardage end as well as the Rams could have a favorable game script as well. Whether you want to include other Rams in your lineup or not, Williams is a player you should definitely try to work in your rosters.
