Daily Fantasy Football – Draftkings Week 18

Daily fantasy football continues to climb in popularity as jackpots have risen consistently and more fans are joining sites every week. Our weekly article showcases players to target at three general levels of value: The big dollar talent (High-Priced Heroes), the average-priced contributors (He’s so “Mid”), and the guys very questionable players at the bottom of the cost charts (Bargain Basement). Yes, for our longtime readers, we did change the titles of our tiers. Our selected players are based on DraftKings values as that is our daily fantasy site of choice, but the values should translate fairly well to any other sites you may use. We don’t share specific lineups or optimized computer rankings, but we will give you some great candidates for you to consider. We set this breakdown up that way because while winning is great, a big part of the fun draw of daily fantasy is mixing and matching your lineups to see how you can maximize your team. That and the fact that we are trying to win the same way that you are, and quite frankly, we don’t want our readers to all have the same exact lineups.

NFL Week 18

It’s always a little sad heading into the final week of the regular season as the joy and stress that football has brought us for the past four months is winding down fast. We’ll still throw out some tidbits during our weekly betting articles during the postseason, but this will be our final DFS dedicated article of the 2023 season. Thank you to those of you who’ve read and or engaged. We regrettably did not win the Milly-Maker again this year, but it was another profitable season including a few nice payouts throughout the year. Week 18 is all about trying to figure out who’s still going to be playing, hustling, and basically giving an effort or getting substantial playing time. We’ll probably have to wait a little later into the week before we get some clarity on what a few of the teams with little to play for are doing, so most likely you’ll need to set or reset your lineups later in the week. Based on our best guesses with the information we have on Tuesday, here are the players we’re targeting. Thanks again for a fun season of DFS chat, see you all in 2024!

Before we highlight our three levels of talent, let’s look at our projected star of the week:

STAR OF THE WEEK:

James Conner has been productive for the Cardinals even with little to play for

The season was essentially lost for the Arizona Cardinals as they had to play the first half without Kyler Murray, and weren’t able to do much out of the gate, other than a wild win against the Cowboys. Running back James Conner also missed time early on, which quieted what was otherwise a really nice season for the veteran running back. An improved offensive line and Conner’s hard running style with the ability to catch passes helped him put up some nice stat lines even against some really good competition. The Cardinals have nothing really to get hyped for in their season finale against the Seahawks, but as we witnessed against the Eagles, they’re still fighting. The Seahawks on the other hand are trying to get into the playoffs, and you know their divisional rivals would love to put the nail in their coffin and send them home on Sunday. After starting the season playing well against the run, the Seahawks have reverted back to their 2022 habits and have been routinely getting gashed by opposing running backs. They’ve allowed the most rushing yards to running backs in the entire league since week seven. A lot of veterans will probably spend some time on the bench in week 18, but we’re betting on Conner getting some solid playing time and continuing his strong play.
