Daily Fantasy Football – Draftkings Week 11

Daily fantasy football continues to climb in popularity as jackpots have risen consistently and more fans are joining sites every week. Our weekly article showcases players to target at three general levels of value: The big dollar talent (Heavy Hitters), the average-priced contributors (Average Athletes), and the guys very questionable players at the bottom of the cost charts (Sneaky Sleepers). Our selected players are based on DraftKings values as that is our daily fantasy site of choice, but the values should translate fairly well to any other sites you may use. We don’t share specific lineups or optimized computer rankings, but we will give you some great candidates for you to consider. We set this breakdown up that way because while winning is great, a big part of the fun draw of daily fantasy is mixing and matching your lineups to see how you can maximize your team. That and the fact that we are trying to win the same way that you are, and quite frankly, we don’t want our readers to all have the same exact lineups.

NFL Week 10 Recap

Pop the champagne for a week 10 recap of our daily fantasy! Alright, maybe not quite champagne worthy, but we can definitely crack a beer over our rosters as we secured some really nice profit on Sunday. It was really centered around our unorthodox selection of the Star of the Week, Justin Fields. Moving forward, it probably won’t be a hot take to roster the Bears quarterback, in fact he’s the 4th ranked QB heading into week 11, but it was definitely a bit of a gamble centering our lineups around the second year QB. Playing Fields, and only stacking with Cole Kmet allowed us plenty of cash to play Saquon Barkley and some other big performers like Tony Pollard. There were a couple of frustrating things that happened on the day that kept us from really cashing in. First, we had the Cardinals defense, and somehow a play that would have resulted in J.J. Watt scoring a TD was blown dead, costing half a dozen points. The other frustration was the injury to Juju Smith-Schuster. He appeared well on his way to a big day, before being knocked out of the game in the first half. Leaving those points on the bench hurt a bit, however any profit is good profit. We’ll take another week like week 10 any day.

NFL Week 11 Preview

You may start to notice some trends with our featured players as the league is now into the second half of the season. A big piece of that rests with matching up against certain defenses, as opposed to necessarily playing the best players. You’ll probably be able to spot these selections if you’ve caught our articles the previous couple of weeks. Week 11 does offer the usual question of spending your money on a potential explosion with a player like Lamar Jackson, or going with a less expensive option? We’re opting for the latter so we have some coins to spend at the other positions. Even if you can’t stomach playing our Star of the Week below, maybe you can look at an option like Jared Goff or Marcus Mariota? Perhaps an even bigger question is whether or not you can trust players with great matchups, like Cordarelle Patterson, after such low usage a week ago? Whether you want to take some chances, or play it safe, we’ve got some options for you below.

Before we highlight our three levels of talent, let’s look at our projected star of the week:

STAR OF THE WEEK:

Daniel Jones – New York Giants

What has gotten into us the last two weeks, first Justin Fields, now Daniel Jones as our Star of the Week? As mentioned in the paragraph above, there’s a lot of similarities here heading into Sunday afternoon. The Giants are facing the Detroit Lions in a very winnable home football game. All the Lions are doing is giving up the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks in the entire league. They have also given up a lot of rushing yards to quarterbacks, including 147 a week ago to Justin Fields. Daniel Jones is the 4th leading rusher at the quarterback position trailing only the three guys you might expect in Justin Fields, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen. There’s also a nice luxury of the Lions often scoring to keep pace in their games, making a quarterback likely to be throwing for the entire game. At a price tag of just $5,700, over $2,000 from the big names in the league, it’s worth taking the risk to save the money for the potential payout. Let’s go Danny Dimes.
