Daily Fantasy Football – Draftkings Week 13

Daily fantasy football continues to climb in popularity as jackpots have risen consistently and more fans are joining sites every week. Our weekly article showcases players to target at three general levels of value: The big dollar talent (Heavy Hitters), the average-priced contributors (Average Athletes), and the guys very questionable players at the bottom of the cost charts (Sneaky Sleepers). Our selected players are based on DraftKings values as that is our daily fantasy site of choice, but the values should translate fairly well to any other sites you may use. We don’t share specific lineups or optimized computer rankings, but we will give you some great .for you to consider. We set this breakdown up that way because while winning is great, a big part of the fun draw of daily fantasy is mixing and matching your lineups to see how you can maximize your team. That and the fact that we are trying to win the same way that you are, and quite frankly, we don’t want our readers to all have the same exact lineups.

NFL Week 12 Recap

We didn’t provide a late update which meant a few players we had targeted were inactive so hopefully you adjusted your lineups accordingly. The good news is, we still crushed some things including Star of the Week Nick Chubb, who bullied his way to nearly 200 scrimmage yards and a touchdown against the Jaguars. Tyreek Hill was our favorite receiver and he carried the BetCrushers, and a lot of other people in fantasy football last week with a ridiculous stat line. Overall we won again consistently with our rosters and hope you found some profit as well.

Tyreek Hill had one of the top fantasy performance in recent seasons

A tandem of Raiders otherwise known as Derek Carr and Darren Waller head our list of players that did not perform. Let’s take a deeper dive into who got it done and who couldn’t make it happen:

Who Made Us Look Brilliant?
  • Tyreek Hill – 269 Yards Receiving, 3 Total TD
  • Nick Chubb – 144 Yards Rushing, 32 Yards Receiving, 1 Total TD
  • Justin Herbert – 316 Yards Passing, 1 Total TD
  • Justin Jefferson – 70 Yards Receiving, 2 Total TD
  • Robby Anderson – 71 Yards Receiving, 1 Total TD
  • T.Y. Hilton – 81 Yards Receiving, 1 Total TD
Who Made Us Look Foolish?
  • Darren Waller – 23 Yards Receiving, 0 Total TD
  • Jared Cook – 0 Yards Receiving, 0 Total TD

NFL Week 13

STAR OF THE WEEK:

Week thirteen’s Star of the Week is one of the riskier plays that we’ve put out so far this season. It’s not because of the player himself, as Cooper Kupp has certainly proven he is capable of shouldering a fantasy burden. More because he tends to be a high-ceiling, but low-floor player, making him a risky start. Combine that with the fact that the offensive line for the Rams is a little thin, and he shares targets with a few others and it’s definitely a play at your own risk. We’re going to gamble a bit with him this week as he’s coming off of a lesser game and believe he’s due in his matchup against the Cardinals. Kupp played well against Arizona in two meetings last season and should at the very least get enough targets to be productive. A key for his overall point total will be whether or not he can find his way into the end zone, which we believe he can.

This has been the case in several weeks this season, and this weekend it may be more prevalent than ever. Spend your money on running backs and use a running back in the flex position. There are half a dozen running backs that are in line for almost guaranteed huge days, while the QB and WR positions are far more volatile, especially at the top of the salary cap. Rely on at least one of the big three of Cook, Henry, and Chubb as your cornerstones and build around them.
