Overview:
For the first time in the last month the BetCrushers were split on their survivor pick as JJ played it as safe as possible taking the Saints in a home battle against the 1-7 Falcons, while Yanni rolled the dice a bit taking the Buccaneers against an upstart Arizona Cardinals team. As Chris Berman always said “that’s why they play the games”. The Falcons pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the year as they were able to hold down Drew Brees and put up some points offensively to get the road win. Tampa was in a back and forth game with the Cardinals and ultimately came away with a close field goal win. The win for Yanni and loss for JJ narrowed the gap between the two of them, while the Saints loss ended a lot of folks hopes and dreams for a Survivor pool victory.
Strategy / Odds:
As mentioned, the Saints loss crushed a lot of Survivor pools so chances are if you’re still alive you’re sitting in really good position to win your contest. Three double digit spreads for this week and most likely at least one if not more are available for you to play if you’re trending like the rest of the country.
Here is a quick glance at the four largest spreads for the week:
(Bovada Sportsbook 11/5/19)
Arizona Cardinals +11 at San Francisco 49ers
Cincinnati Bengals +10.5 at Oakland Raiders
Denver Broncos +10.5 at Minnesota Vikings
Chicago Bears +6.5 at Los Angeles Rams
There are still some quality teams left available to use and even a couple with favorable matchups such as the Vikings playing at home against Brandon Allen and the Broncos. Earlier in the season it was vogue to take whoever the Dolphins were playing and that got you to near the halfway point in the season. The last remaining winless team is the Cincinnati Bengals so they’ll be a hot ticket in terms of taking their opponent from here on out. That’s exactly what Yanni is looking to do this week.
Coming off a highly unexpected loss with the Saints a week ago JJ is looking to rebound in week eleven. Looking ahead there is really only one great opportunity with the Oakland Raiders and it would be this week against those previously mentioned Bengals. With a matchup at home in the “Black Hole” it’s tough to imagine that Oakland won’t be able to come away with a win against rookie Ryan Finley who is making just his second start of the season.
