Daily Fantasy Football – Draftkings Week 7

Daily fantasy football continues to climb in popularity as jackpots have risen consistently and more fans are joining sites every week. Our weekly article showcases players to target at three general levels of value: The big dollar talent (High-Priced Heroes), the average-priced contributors (He’s so “Mid”), and the guys very questionable players at the bottom of the cost charts (Bargain Basement). Yes, for our longtime readers, we did change the titles of our tiers. Our selected players are based on DraftKings values as that is our daily fantasy site of choice, but the values should translate fairly well to any other sites you may use. We don’t share specific lineups or optimized computer rankings, but we will give you some great candidates for you to consider. We set this breakdown up that way because while winning is great, a big part of the fun draw of daily fantasy is mixing and matching your lineups to see how you can maximize your team. That and the fact that we are trying to win the same way that you are, and quite frankly, we don’t want our readers to all have the same exact lineups.

NFL Week 6 Recap

It’s been a really profitable DFS season throughout the first five weeks of the year, but we gotta own the “L” we took this past weekend. Before we admittingly own up to some bad player selections, we do have one thing to take a small victory lap on. Our Star of the Week was a hit yet again, as Kyren Williams had his career best day with 158 yards rushing and a touchdown. In reality, those numbers could have exploded for even more, but we’re not even going to dwell on that. Now for those not so great recaps, let’s just say we were let down by quite a few players. That included overthinking things, and not having Raheem Mostert listed, attempting to cut back against the grain a bit. Anyhow, you’ll see very few who made us look smart below, and a lot that fell on their faces. Just a lot of misses, which was going to happen at some point. The goal now is to make sure that is an anomaly and not a trend as we head into the upcoming week.

These Players Made Us Look Good:

Kenneth Walker III – 62 Yards Rushing, 27 Yards Receiving, 1 Total TD
Cooper Kupp – 148 Yards Receiving, 1 Total TD
Kyren Williams – 158 Yards Rushing, 1 Total TD

These Players Made Us Look Foolish:

Justin Fields – 58 Yards Passing, 46 Yards Rushing, 0 Total TD
Kirk Cousins – 181 Yards Passing, -5 Yards Rushing, 1 Total TD
Logan Thomas – 2 Yards Receiving, 0 Total TD

NFL Week 7 Preview

Bye weeks are firmly on the calendar as we have only 10 games during the Sunday slate for the big contests in DFS. With those byes are some of the most consistent starters across the league, meaning you may have to dig a little bit deeper than normal at this point. For the BetCrushers it’s going to be a running back heavy week as there are a few really nice potential starts that won’t beak the bank. (You’ll see one below featured). Wide receiver is definitely up for grabs this Sunday and you’ll probably see a lot of variety across ownership in contests. We’ve put in a little extra time this week to rebound and get back on the winning track in week seven.

Before we highlight our three levels of talent, let’s look at our projected star of the week:

STAR OF THE WEEK:

The Commanders Brian Robinson, Jr. has offered steady production in the Washington backfield

There are a few players we really like this week that could easily be our projected Star of the Week, and if there’s a such thing as “settling”, we’re doing it with Brian Robinson, Jr. of the Washington Commanders. Part of the reason we decided on Robinson is one option we love we’ve already used this season, and we try to mix it up each week. The other options is coming off of a serious hamstring injury, which makes Aaron Jones a little bit of a risky play to build your rosters around. Neither of these are a slight towards Robinson, who has been one of the steadiest fantasy performers at the position all the way back to the end of last season. He enters week seven averaging a very respectable 14.1 FFPG, which continues to be better than he general salary range each weekend. This Sunday he sits at a very affordable $5,800, which will afford you the opportunity to build your stacks or stars around him. Robinson, Jr. has a very nice matchup against the division rival New York Giants, who have been shaky all season on defense, and are ranked just the 26th best against opposing running backs. New York is also going to have to find some energy after giving a tremendous effort on Sunday night versus the Bills before falling just short in dramatic fashion. With their season essentially over, and an offense that can’t score touchdowns, it’s going to be tough for the Giants defense to bring the same intensity they did last week. Robinson, Jr. should find the end zone at least once, and if Washington has a lead will see plenty of work. We’re going to give Robinson a roster spot in our lineups and go from there.
