Daily fantasy football continues to climb in popularity as jackpots have risen consistently and more fans are joining sites every week. Our weekly article showcases players to target at three general levels of value: The big dollar talent (Heavy Hitters), the average-priced contributors (Average Athletes), and the guys very questionable players at the bottom of the cost charts (Sneaky Sleepers). Our selected players are based on DraftKings values as that is our daily fantasy site of choice, but the values should translate fairly well to any other sites you may use. We don’t share specific lineups or optimized computer rankings, but we will give you some great candidates for you to consider. We set this breakdown up that way because while winning is great, a big part of the fun draw of daily fantasy is mixing and matching your lineups to see how you can maximize your team. That and the fact that we are trying to win the same way that you are, and quite frankly, we don’t want our readers to all have the same exact lineups.
NFL Week 2 Recap
As we mentioned, it was going to be a quiet week two for the BetCrushers in DFS, as there were simply too many good options to select from. With a small card, we were competitive, however ultimately were not able to cash in. Being disciplined is important when you don’t see the matchups you like, so you can live to fight another day. We took a gamble with our Star of the Week, with so-so results, as Najee Harris was respectable if not spectacular. The rookie scored his first touchdown of the season and hauled in four passes, however was limited to just over 40 yards rushing. Although a productive part of the roster, in a week that saw a lot of scoring, that stat line just wasn’t going to lead to a victory. Overall, most of picks fell into that similar category. Only a few real busts, but only a few real ballers as well. A lot of really mediocre performances. Big picture, if you didn’t have Tom Brady or Derrick Henry in your lineups, chances are you weren’t winning a whole lot.

- Hunter Henry – 42 Yards Receiving, 0 Total TD
- Russell Gage – 27 Yards Receiving, 0 Total TD
- David Njoku – 28 Yards Receiving, 0 Total TD
NFL Week 3 Preview
Week number two is going to be a light play for the BetCrushers in DFS for one simple, yet fun reason. There are just too many juicy options, it’s impossible to really find advantages. There are going to be a lot of players, both high dollar and sleeper that put up some big stat lines. If you’re planning on playing, we feel really good that you’re going to end up really happy with a lot of the guys we have featured below. Mix and match, hope for some luck, and hopefully you can come out with some winners. Before we highlight our three levels of talent, let’s look at our projected star of the week:
STAR OF THE WEEK:
There are some really nice high priced options this week to build your team around at the quarterback and wide receiver positions. In an effort to provide some not so obvious value, we’re highlighting Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin as our Star of the Week. The Bucs’ offense has been electric as Tom Brady continues to defy logic and time tossing 9 touchdowns in the first two weeks. Tampa Bay has one of the weekend’s best matchups as they’ll battle the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams have perhaps the best cornerback in the league in Jalen Ramsey, however it falls off quite a bit after that. Godwin plays primarily in the slot, which means he should avoid Ramsey for a big part of the night. Brady isn’t going to take unnecessary risks going in Ramsey’s direction so Godwin should benefit from some short quick passes or even deep seam routes. Outside of Godwin, consider spending some money on one of the marquee tight ends as the difference they can provide could be what is needed to place and win in week number three.
