Daily fantasy football continues to climb in popularity as jackpots have risen consistently and more fans are joining sites every week. Our weekly article showcases players to target at three general levels of value: The big dollar talent (Heavy Hitters), the average-priced contributors (Average Athletes), and the guys very questionable players at the bottom of the cost charts (Sneaky Sleepers). Our selected players are based on DraftKings values as that is our daily fantasy site of choice, but the values should translate fairly well to any other sites you may use. We don’t share specific lineups or optimized computer rankings, but we will give you some great candidates for you to consider. We set this breakdown up that way because while winning is great, a big part of the fun draw of daily fantasy is mixing and matching your lineups to see how you can maximize your team. That and the fact that we are trying to win the same way that you are, and quite frankly, we don’t want our readers to all have the same exact lineups.
NFL Week 4 Recap
Let’s go ahead and check out our “Who made us look brilliant” column below. What a fun week for us as we placed in nearly all contests we participated in as almost all of our targeted players hit paydirt. For the first time this season, our Star of the Week really elevated our rosters, as the value David Montgomery provided spearheaded our scoring early. Montgomery cracked the 100 yard mark and punched in a couple of TDs in the first half, before unfortunately exiting with an injury in the second half. Pairing Montgomery with some of the bigger stars like Patrick Mahomes (and his 5 touchdown passes) proved fruitful. Where we really excelled in week four, was actually in our sleeper category, as we got big production from a lot of low priced guys. Overall, it was a great week four, and we’re hoping we can ride the momentum into the upcoming weekend.

NFL Week 5 Preview
Decisions, decisions at the top of your rosters in week five. It’s going to be really difficult to pass on a top level quarterbacks this week, although there are a couple of sleepers you can consider if you want to spend your cash elsewhere. We’re spending our money this Sunday on the running back position, as there are some can’t miss type players who could be in line for huge games. There will of course be some strong wide receivers, however pinpointing them figures to be a little bit more of a crapshoot. For the first time this season, injuries really are playing a bigger factor as well as there are a lot of early in the week questionable players. That means some late substitutions might be needed, especially if you want to find a backup sleeper filling in for a late scratch.
STAR OF THE WEEK:
Admittedly, there is not nearly the value or analysis needed with this year’s Star of the Week. Dalvin Cook is anything but a secret in fantasy football, and is surely on your radar already. Because of his injuries and slow start to the season however, his fantasy numbers have started out pretty meager. Don’t give up on the talented running back, as he’s in a spot to not only bounce back, but win your matchups for you this weekend. Cook got some work in during their week four loss, and should be ready to roll this weekend in a game the Vikings absolutely have to win. His opponent, the Lions, are coming off of a rough game stopping the run, and have struggled against Cook in some previous matchups. Look for one of those “monster” days for Dalvin Cook and get him in your lineups no matter the price.
